Sisters Beach General Store, Cafe & Bottle Shop, known as ‘Little Sisters’ is quite literally a one stop shop. They have great coffee (with multiple milk options) and the staff will make you feel very welcome. Enjoy some lunch choosing from their large blackboard menu. Pick up some milk, bread, a snack or any other pantry staple from their small but well stocked general store and duck into the bottle shop to pick up your afternoon wine. Pizza night is every Friday & Saturday so make sure to check that out, they also offer a few weekly specials when you dine in. Choose to get take away pizza and enjoy on Arku’s deck or sit in the lovely courtyard…on occasion there is a live band of an evening. They often host small gig’s showcasing the local musicians and in the summer months they occasionally put on markets!

This hand-built timber store is absolutely gorgeous, and a wonderful place to enjoy a delicious light meal on the verandah overlooking the well manicured gardens. Soups, gourmet toasties, freshly baked bread and sweet treats all make an appearance on their changing menu. Souvenir hunters will love their range of handmade items and scrumptious relishes. On occasion they will have live bands playing out in the garden.

Sisters Beach is quite literally at your doorstep! The stunning crystal blue water overlooking Sisters Island is picturesque on a beautiful sunny day. Spend your day relaxing in one of our many seating nooks, practice yoga and meditation, or tan on the day bed. To have a great day you don’t even need to leave the shack! We recommend a morning sunrise walk along the beach, there is something so special about the magical colours dancing over the ocean and Sisters Island. If you’re not a morning person that’s okay, wake up for sunrise in the comfort of your bed and then press the snooze button. Have a picnic by the river, or take the bridge over the river and walk down the street to the Sisters Beach General Store & Cafe for a coffee. Explore the many snorkelling spots or if you fancy diving you may find a ship wreck or two. Spend the afternoon relaxing in the hammock and retire over to the rustic timber bench to enjoy an arvo cocktail or Tassie wine you may have picked up from the Sisters Beach liquor store. Sisters Beach is also home to many walking tracks throughout the National Park but don’t feel obligated to go hiking, there are an abundance of things to enjoy in this special part of the world. Stanley is a gorgeous seaside town located 1 hour west of Sisters Beach. Most famously known for ‘The Nut’ which is all that remains of an ancient volcanic plug. The Nut offers a VERY steep climb to the summit, for those that don’t feel like blowing their knees out there is a little chair lift to get you to there instead. Whichever way you choose to ascend you will find incredible panoramic views of the Bass Strait beaches and surrounding town below. Stanley’s remarkably preserved colonial houses, quaint streets and beautiful views make a perfect leisure seekers retreat.

Wynyard is a short scenic drive from Arku House. It is home to our favourite restaurant ‘The Vault’ and a great lunch spot known as The Lunch Company and just around the corner from the scenic Table Cape Lighthouse and Table Cape Tulip farms. Wynyard is a town worth visiting with a gorgeous golf course and walking track around the Inglis River. Wynyard is home to a very small marina which dances with reflections upon sunset. There are some lovely boutique shops, my favourite named ‘Chille’ which stock crockery, bath salts & soap, home decor and other little goodies.
