Our cabin in Garden Valley is only an hour away from Boise, providing year-round access to the mountains!
South Fork Landing is a new development along the Payette River in Garden Valley on an historic elk ranch. There are remnants of the original homestead next door. There is an eco-conscious plan to preserve the habitats of local wildlife, practice organic horticulture and provide ample open space for expansive views and accessible recreation.
Bring your bikes to cruise along the nature trail on the Payette, fish the 9 stocked ponds, or wander South Fork Landing's many little surprises. On a clear night, the dark sky is illuminated by the Milky Way and countless constellations above.
The final 1/2 mile leading to our cabin is currently unpaved but plowed in the winter. 4x4 or AWD with snow tires or chains is recommended during winter weather in this area of the mountains.

There are several white water rafting outfitters in the area (Idaho Unlimited, Bear Valley, Cascade...) that can guide all levels of difficulty.

Several small pools. The best requires wading into the river around the corner, but the brave are rewarded with a hot waterfall shower into clear, cascading pools.

Very popular. 10 minutes north of Lowman there is a large dirt pullout by a bridge. Many pools along the river of various temperatures.

Day Trips
If you are going to be staying more than a couple days, it may be worth a visit to some of these other towns in central Idaho.
The heart of the Sawtooths is definitely worth a visit during a longer stay. You can take a boat ride across Redfish lake to climb Elephant Perch, soak in Boat Box Hot Spring, or join the locals at the bakery. 1.5 hrs away.
