Neighbourhoods

Tirana, the Republic of Albania's largest city, is blessed with a mild Mediterranean climate, a plethora of beautiful churches and lush parks. Founded in 1614, some striking Mussolini-era architecture dots the city center. Walk between sights such as Skanderbeg Square's 1789 Et'hem Bey Mosque, the 1830 Sahat-Kulla (Clock Tower) and the Puppet Theater, once home to King Zog's puppet parliament. Visit the Peace Bell, built with old cartridge shells, a reminder of Tirana's stormy past.

Our home is located in a very known neighborhood in the center Tirana. Myslym Shyri is a famous shopping street. There are shops and boutiques on both sides of the street that sell clothes, shoes and more. Most of the products come from Greece and Italy. The prices are quite reasonable. If you have any questions about the area, don't hesitate to reach out!

My favorite dinner places

The service is very good, ambience luxurious and modern, sushi is good (especially the hellfire roll), and the forest fruit cheesecake (off the menu) is amazing, one of the best cheesecakes you can have. The Pinot Grigio wine from Italy is amazing as well!

Their food is fresh and delicious. It’s not the typical you find in every Albanian or Italian restaurant.

The place is very fancy! The interior is very elegant and the food is amazing. Great wine selection although it is only sold by the bottle. Expect to spend more than average for your meal but it is very worth it.

Interurban buses tirana

Many buses run between the major cities of Albania. Bus travel is inexpensive and a good way of seeing the countryside. Buses travel nearly always in the day-time, but they do not always run to a regular schedule. A long-distance fare, such as from Tirana to Saranda, costs between 1,000 and 1,200 lek. Many travellers prefer to use the many private vans that rival the scheduled bus routes but which operate almost entirely without schedules or set fares. You should always consider the condition of the van before choosing to travel in one, as many operate informally.

Tirana taxi

There are many taxi companies in Tirana. You can find them easily on the Internet, or at most street corners; the prices are pretty much standard. It costs approximately 20–30 euro to reach Tirana from the airport. Inside the city, depending on your destination, you can get around for 3 or 4 euros.
