Downtown Davis has a variety of restaurants, bars, shops, and activities. It is very "walkable" and picturesque. It's about 3 miles from my house, so it's best to take transit (Unitrans red bus), bicycle, or drive there.

Sightseeing
In downtown Sacramento you can tour the historic State Capital building and surrounding park; eat at many restaurants; shop in the downtown Mall; and walk around. There's also Old Sacramento with buildings from the Gold Rush era, as well as the Train Museum.

Getting Around
There is a bus stop within one block for both the Unitrans (red) buses that go around Davis and to U.C. Davis, and for the Yolobus (blue) buses that go to downtown Sacramento, the Airport, Woodland, and other places outside of Davis.
