New café / coffee bar at Tøyen Torg, near to the apartment and metro station. They have a split service - one part is café, very nice for coffee/lunch at daytime, and the other part is restaurant, with a new nordic kitchen. I bit more expensive, but worth it if you want to have a taste of the modern nordic gastronomy.

Perfect for summer days! Just behind the opera house you find the new hang out by the see, Sukkerbiten and Sørenga, where people come to swim or hang out on sunny days. At Sukkerbiten you can have beer and food and sit by the sea.

You probably have already hear of Frognerparken/Vigelandsparken if you have done some Oslo research, but I'll send my recommendations as well. A beautiful sculpture park.

Essentials
Mid-size supermarket, one of the closest to the apartment. On Tøyen Torg, just up the staircase, you also find a nice shop for fruits and vegetables. Open 07-23 monday-saturday, closed on sundays.
