Hiking trails are plenty, and there is an assortment of activities here to keep everyone busy, happy, and connected with nature year-round whether you like the beach crowd, calming waves on the shore, or the solitude of the woods!

The Galien River County Park has well maintained, very nice walking/hiking trails leading out to a lookout point, or down to the river. It is a wonderful local spot for a relaxing hike through the woods, which we frequent a number of times per year.
BONUS: Across the street is a Playground and Splash Pad for the kids!

Galien River County Park
17424 Red Arrow HwyThe Galien River County Park has well maintained, very nice walking/hiking trails leading out to a lookout point, or down to the river. It is a wonderful local spot for a relaxing hike through the woods, which we frequent a number of times per year.
BONUS: Across the street is a Playground and Splash Pad for the kids!

We prefer Four Winds over Blue Chip because its a short drive from Sawyer, but also has a better "vibe" and the facility is very nicely done. The casino is very large, and also includes an international buffet and the Hard Rock. The machines are regularly refreshed so there is never a shortage of new fun games to play!
Note: Smoking is still allowed indoors in MI, so you WILL come out smelling of smoke and casino air freshener, bleh.
