This spot is new and, priced fairly and has everything you need: coffee, wifi, coffee to go, breakfast, lunch, dinner, wine, cocktails, beer. If you walk slowly it will take almost 5 minutes. Also opens at 8, which is rare around here.

Jean LaFitte used to take to the Barataria Swamp when he needed to hide. Absolutely the most convenient swamp to the Crescent City. Ignore the sprawl on your way and trust that you will be in alligator country shortly. Several fat hikes are available and alligator sightings are frequent. This is a beautiful spot. As always, be prepared for rain.

If you don't like lines spring for the Big Shot tickets. We go as often as possible. No drinks served, but Pat O'Brian's is next door and happy to give you a traveler to bring in. The shows are short but powerful.
