Dark Horse provides stylish self-contained villa accommodation near forest and beaches on the stunning Barrington Coast, NSW. Set on our 10 acre farm on the site of an old dairy, we've built a unique one bedroom retreat including some of the original timbers to create an airy open plan space opening onto views of the small valley and paddocks, picking up the sea breezes. We're located just 8kms north of Nabiac on the Mid North Coast, just off the Pacific Highway. Forster is a 10 min drive.

Baevue Cottage

Baevue Cottage was once an oyster purging shed, but has since been transformed into a perfect couples’ getaway, nestled on the waterfront of Pelican Bay in the Manning River. Just minutes from Manning Point Beach, it offers the ideal spot to start your day with a sunrise walk. Features include combined living and bedroom area (queen bed), bathroom, kitchen (no oven or dishwasher) ceiling fans, electric blanket, oil heater, WiFi and a fire pit. Inala, which means peaceful place, is the perfect escape. Nestled on 7 acres of native bushland, this architect designed home boasts complete privacy and commands spectacular views across to the Barrington Tops through its extensive North facing windows. Featuring open plan living with polished timber floors and vaulted ceiling the feeling is relaxed, bright and spacious and the perfect antidote to a hectic life. We have 2 bedrooms with king sized beds, one which splits into two singles.

Our property is in the quiet town of Old Bar only 50 meters from the beach,with just a short walk to restaurants and shops. It has great ocean views to chill and relax,maybe watch the whales and dolphins, or for the more adventurous there is great surfing kiteboarding fishing ,walking / running tracks, as well as fantastic mountain biking only 10klm away. Just 15min drive to Taree and 25 min to Foster we have 1 king bed 1 queen 3 singles and a koala queen sofa lounge bed & 2 bathrooms.

Once a working dairy, now converted to a one bedroom cottage with a spacious, sun-filled living area, full kitchen, newly renovated bathroom and cosy Queen-sized bedroom with a beautiful outlook onto the paddocks.

Your accommodation is in separate cottage, with Queen Bed in Bedroom 1, Two King Singles in Bedroom 2. Enjoy the swimming pool and gardens and see the Cattle grazing over the fence. Our guests can walk or 4WD (yours) over the farm, or simply relax on the wrap-around deck watching the cattle, and weird Guinea Fowl .

Bowarra Farmstay on the Manning River

Bowarra is an 85 hectare biodynamic beef farm 12 minutes from Wingham and 30 mins from Taree, Saltwater and Old Bar beach. Bounded by the Manning river and Burrell Creek guests have access to plenty of freshwater activities. The house offers a peaceful and secluded stay complete with inside fire and outdoor fire pit. You are welcome to interact with us and our cows, pigs, goats, ducks and chickens. Pets permitted by request.
