A hidden gem on the bay, the Wave Organ was designed by an artist affiliated with the Exploratorium museum. It is loaded with history of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Expo World Trade Fair as it is constructed of leftover materials from the Expo. construction. It is also a dreamy spot to sit and admire the natural beauty of the Bay.
Take in the stunning views of the city while you listen to the sounds of the waves rolling in across San Francisco Bay, all thanks to a clever arrangement of stone and pipes that form the Wave Organ.
Just outside the presidio, I added this one as it’s so close ( just before the east entrance at end of marina green) and free and unique.
The wave organ is a unique structure and one not many know to come see in SF. Depending on the tides, the waves play on the stones and crevices creating an acoustic and visual experience on the Bay
