The Lamar Beach section of the Town Lake hike and bike trail is best known for its pedestrian bridge, whose novel design is anything but pedestrian. The bridge has benches and plantings, and is a great place to watch the sunset. Great place to hike/bike/run The western part of Lamar Beach has spectacular fields of spring and summer wildflowers.

This is a 6 mile trail around downtown and the lake. Well maintained and a great place to get a feel for the vibe of Austin.
