We love the José María Velasco Gómez collection. Especially the painting of the Mexico Valley at the exact moment when the Aztecs saw the eagle eating a snake on a nopal cactus, the reason why they decided to found Tenochtitlán City on this place, so you can get a clear image of the magnificent landscape before Mexico City; a lake in the middle of the valley, surrounded by mountains and volcanos.

There's always interesting exhibitions, but the building itself is worth the visit, and you can go see also the Bellas Artes, just a couple minutes away.
