Las Dunas de Maspalomas is a unique natural space in the Canary Islands for its beauty and the variety of ecosystems it shelters. Protected by the Government of the Canary Islands as a special nature reserve, its 400 hectares include an excellent beach, a field of living dunes of organic sand, a palm forest and a brackish lagoon. This mixture of desert and oasis is located on the southernmost coast of Gran Canaria and is surrounded by the famous hotel establishments of the large tourist center of Maspalomas. To get to know this natural spot better, it is advisable to visit the information center and the viewpoint, both located in the Hotel Riu Palace, in the northeastern sector of Maspalomas known as Playa del Inglés. From there there is a path whose branch number 3 crosses the different types of dunes of the reserve and reaches the extensive and sunny beach of Maspalomas. From there you can go to observe the abundant wildlife of the Pond and enjoy the refreshing shade of the Palm Grove.
