Enjoy this beautiful abbey, and all the beautiful natural woodland walks on the grounds, while there is a small charge to tour the abbey, the grounds are free, and are open 24 /7 . There is a beautiful river flowing through the grounds, and lots of picnic tables, and beautiful wood carvings to be admired. There is a cafe to enjoy a coffee, and a walled garden to visit. Well worth a visit , you will return time after time @

You don't have to go inside the Abbey to enjoy yourself here. Take a look at the Abbey and notice its cross shape. From the car park, can you see the faces up high on the building? The small round tower makes a nice photo. Have the rest of the family go inside and stick their heads out the window. The curved roof area at the back is where the monks stored their grain. You can still see (and smell) the wild garlic the monks planted in the woods. There are walks through the woods or stroll to the old church and graveyard. Be sure to take a look at the well and limekiln next to the bridge. The water is tidal up to the bridge. Across the bridge are the old stables and formal garden (fee)

Tintern Abbey has multiple trails through ancient forest, really lush and green, with a river flowing through. You can chose longer or shorter trails, they are all sign posted. After, there is a coffee shop that does belgian waffles...
