Locally owned and operated coffee shop at the base of Grandfather Mountain (in front of Lowes Foods). They serve Hatchet coffee, roasted locally in Boone and carry a rotating selection of fresh-baked pastries from Stick Boy Bread Co and a large variety of loose leaf teas by Adagio.

They’re open until 4, have free wife, and are a great place to grab coffee or stop and do some work (if necessary).

Moutain Grounds is the perfect little stop for coffee and a quick bit to eat before heading up the ski mountains. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and smells amazing. We love trying their seasonal lattes! 7mi drive. $
