Rent a bike from any of several bike-rental outfits in DC and take a ride from Georgetown up the canal. Path goes all the way to Harpers Ferry WV but you'll find tons of interesting places in 20 mins.

One of Washington DC's iconic landmark. A great promenade that goes all the way to Maryland. One of my favorite jogging trails.

The C&O canal is a half block from our building. You can walk or run along the scenic path, or just sit on a bench and people watch!
