Haruya Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

《May 2019 TV can be watched.》 It is located 15 minutes on foot from Kyoto station. It will be lent to a Kyoto townhouse style building. I put the finest furniture and the finest bed. You can also use wifi. The bath is about the size of two adults and uses Japanese cypress. It will be a very beautiful room just opened in January. Please try and stay at once. The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

宮津の中心街から車で10分程度で里山、田園風景が自慢の「上宮津」という地域内で３年ほど空き家になっていた物件をリノベーションして１棟貸しの宿泊施設へと生まれ変わりました。 海までは10分、天橋立までは15分、伊根の舟屋までは45分。 特別綺麗な施設ではありませんが、地域ならではのゆっくりとした時間を過ごしていただます。 基本的にお料理は出していませんが、ご希望の方は近隣のおにぎりcafeの当施設限定朝食おにぎりセットを予約することができます（有料） 地域の方との交流やBBQ、収穫体験などのメニュー、地域内e-bikeツアーなどもご紹介可能です。事前にお問い合わせください。またBBQは一式のレンタルで¥2,200で準備します。（イス、コンロ、炭、火ばさみ、準備から片付けまで）食材は含まれません。ゲストの方でご準備してください。レンタル以外でのBBQはご遠慮いただいています。 ガレージでは、BBQの他、自転車やバイクのメンテナンスを雨に濡れずに行う事ができます。鍵付きの建物内に保管できますので安心して丹後一周する事が可能です。 駐車場は当施設すぐ後ろに駐車スペースがあります。

Kyoto Arashiyama "Hanare" araka-tanaka was registered as "Kyoto Important Landscape Architectural Monuments". It is a traditional Japanese 'Kyo-Machiya' located in scenic Arashiyama, on the west side of Kyoto. The train station (JR Saga Arashiyama Sta. 5min walk away) is from there it's 12-17 minutes to JR Kyoto Station. Arashiyama is with its beautiful scenery, the Hozu and Ooi Rivers with its romantic 'Moon-Crossing Bridge Togetsukyo,' the bamboo grove, etc...

We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee.
