Blackheath is a stunning affluent market town, 15 minutes walk from my house. Here you will find a string of lovely upmarket shops such as Space NK, Whistles, Oliver Bonas, Farrow & Ball. You can swing by for a coffee at Gails Bakery or one of several other independent cafes and coffee shops. There is also an Ivy Restaurant with views of the Heath

Hither Green really is a little gem! Nestled away between Greenwich park and Lewisham, Hither Green is quaint and idyllic. It is incredibly residential and home to lots of young families. There is a fantastic community spirit about the place and everyone is very friendly.

Head into the Big Smoke via train from Hither Green. It will take you less than 10 minutes to arrive in London Bridge. From here you can take a short walk to Borough Market to enjoy the food and drink stalls.

Well connected? Trains: four an hour to London Cannon Street (19-21 minutes), connecting with the overground at New Cross; up to six to Charing Cross (21-27 minutes), many stopping at London Bridge.
