Sept 26-28, 2019 Lumière is a free annual arts festival held in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The three-day festival brings together Cape Breton’s diverse cultural sectors to infuse Sydney’s downtown with contemporary visual art, theatre, dance and music. Discover an accessible, interactive, educational, and engaging festival that underlines the importance of public participation and cultural democracy. In 2019, the festival will present over 40 projects and events including a diverse mix of arts installations, screenings, talks and workshops by local and high-profile visiting artists, artisans and heritage presenters and marks the ninth year of the Lumière Arts Festival. As demonstrated in its first eight editions, Lumière is a well-organized, professionally run, high-caliber festival that provides both residents and visitors with an exciting artistic experience.
