Rumour has it that The Roll Call has had quite the eventful past. The building that now stands on Woolston Road is the third Roll Call building to be built there. The first it is believed met an end in a fire that saw it re built only to be bombed in World War 2. We are pleased to say that the third Roll Call is still standing! Shaun and Roz has been familiar with the Roll Call for many years, knowing it as their local. However, long before that, in the 1980’s Shaun spent his teenage years here along with his parents who ran the Roll Call for most of the 80s. After having The Roll Call in their sights it wasn’t until “2014” that Shaun and Roz Quirk took on this pub and shaped it into the friendly and welcoming traditional pub that many know today. You will always find a warm welcome, hearty delicious menu and a choice of real ale, lagers and wine – along with that token local propping up the bar. The Roll Call offers homemade cooking from Chef Tracy, it’s menu featuring a variety of dishes to cater for all tastes, plenty of choice for the children and a wonderful Sunday Roast not to be missed – Booking recommended to save disappointment! The Roll Call is a popular choice for locals and visitors alike, offering two relaxed bar areas, a log burning stove, beer garden, front patio and plenty of parking. Nestled between the Netley Abbey and the famous sailing centre at Hamble; The Roll Call is the perfect spot to charge your batteries before a visit to the local sights or to simply hunker down and catch up with family and friends. Walkers often find themselves at the door of The Roll Call after enjoying a stroll down the Hampshire Strawberry Trail or The Solent Way – just in time to warm themselves by the log burning stove with a drink in hand.
