My family and I spent a lot of time at Cochituate State Park. Great picnic venue. Swimming and boat rental is available on the lake there. My daughter works at the boat rental service there.

Iconic New England lake, nature and wildlife. Hiking biking canoe kayak lots of options.

You can walk to Lake Cochituate in one of several ways. At the state park they also rent small boats in season.
