A recent addition to the Rembrandtplein, one of the city’s busiest nightlife squares, is Amsterdam’s first street-art restaurant—where you can drink and dine surrounded by canvases from the world’s top graffiti artists. Befitting its name (De Bajes is Dutch slang for “the prison”), the space has an industrial vibe, with gray floors, black ceilings and railings, and monochromatic furnishings—all punctuated by bright, riotous wall graphics from the likes of D*Face, Ben Eine, and the London Police. There’s a wide selection of craft beer, gin, and other spirits; the menu skews casual, with sandwiches, salads, and plenty of snacks and shareable plates.
