Great way to get to Boston via the MBTA commuter rail. There are buses as well heading to Boston, Logan Airport or to the Blue line train station "Wonderland Station" MBTA.com for more info

I personally love public transportation and rarely drive anywhere unless it's to another state or a forest. Take the commuter rail south 30 min. to Boston ($15 RT) or north to Rockport, Gloucester, and Newburyport. Find schedules and fares online at mbta.com.
