Coldwater has been providing library service since the 1800s when this was an Indian Village called "Gis-se-nau-se-bing" (cold river). Books were brought from Scotland to lend from the Indian Agents home. The present library was built in 1937, as a memorial by the Sheppard family, to their parents Wm. Sheppard and Mary Ellen Buchanan. Monday 11:00am – 5:00pm Tuesday 11:00 am– 7:00pm Thursday 11:00 am– 7:00pm Friday 11:00 am– 5:00pm Saturday 11:00am – 2:00pm Closed Sundays and Wednesdays
