Banting House National Historic Site of Canada was owned by Dr. Frederick Banting between June 1920 and August 1921, witnessed what was to be the defining moment of his life, and the beginning of a dramatic research trajectory that led to the discovery of insulin.
Sir Frederick Banting lived in this house when he discovered Insulin, thereby changing and improving the lives of diabetics world-wide.
Banting House National Historic Site of Canada celebrates not only a great Canadian discovery, but the life and career of Sir Frederick Grant Banting (1891-1941).
