An absolute must! Amazing selection of savoury and sweet dishes. Sheltered sitting area outside and a kiddies play area. Also sells clothing, shoes and gifts. Just off the main A1 at Browniside, about 7 miles north of Alnwick. Very difficult to drive past!

Carnaby's is a family-friendly venue that serves fabulous breakfasts until 11.30 each day, and it is just across the A1 from the Ellingham turnoff, so very convenient for our guests. It also has a really good lunch menu and serves homemade cakes, pies, salads etc, including for takeaway. All the pork for the sausage rolls, sausages and pulled pork comes from their very own rare breed pigs less than a mile away! Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors, and park play toys for the kids. Highly recommended.

Good stop off on the A1 just north of Alnwick, handy if travelling from the south to the cottage and you need a pit stop, or if you’re exploring the Northumberland coast line. Outdoor seating available, dogs allowed.
