This expansive park and historic site offers one of the most stunning beaches in Florida. And, beyond the beach, there are other discoveries, including the historic fort, fishing pier, bycicle trails... also you can often see dolphins there!

With miles of serene and sandy shoreline, this much-loved county park covers five islands and 1,136 acres on the Gulf of Mexico and Tampa Bay. That means you can explore on land or water, visit a Spanish-American War-era fort, splash around with your pups at the water’s edge, or lounge on a sun-soaked beach.

Fort De Soto consists of 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands with very quiet beaches, family friendly beaches. There are hundreds of migratory birds there to see, along with lots of marine life, and some great areas for shelling. $5 per car to get in and you always know you will find immediate parking. There is also an off leash dog park here.
